Nothing. Homeowners are never charged. The contractor pays us a referral fee when we pass them your enquiry, and that fee does not change what they quote you.
Every company that joins the network confirms at signup that they hold the licences and insurance their trade requires. We take that on their word — we do not inspect documents — so ask to see their certificate of insurance before work starts, as you would with any trade.
One. We pass your enquiry to a single local contractor rather than selling it to several, so you are not fielding calls all week.
We will tell you. The network is stronger in some trades and towns than others, and it is growing. If we do not have anyone who covers your work in your area, you will hear that from us rather than waiting on a call that is not coming.
Sometimes. Some contractors handle windows, siding, roofing and eavestrough together, which is worth doing when the work overlaps — new siding and new windows are much easier in one go than a year apart. Tell us what you are considering and we will match accordingly.
Your enquiry goes to one contractor covering your town, and they contact you directly using the details you gave us. If nobody in the network covers your town, we will tell you rather than leave you waiting.
Most exterior work in this part of Ontario runs from spring through late autumn, and the good contractors book up well ahead. Roofing and siding need workable weather; windows and doors can be done later in the season with more care around sealing. If something has already failed, say so — an emergency repair is a different conversation from a planned replacement.
We pass your name, contact details and what you wrote to the one contractor we match you with, so they can get in touch. We do not sell it to anyone else. We hold it while your enquiry is being worked and delete it on a set schedule after that.
An independent local exterior contractor, not us. Simcoe Muskoka Exteriors is a referral service operated by Ontario Lead Networks Inc. We do not perform exterior work, employ exterior contractors, or supervise their work. Your agreement for the job is with the exterior contractor directly.
